A Quinceañera - Nancy turns 15
Nancy, radiant on her special day
On November 18th, the Orphanage had a wonderful celebration to honor Nancy’s fifteenth birthday, a Quinceañera. There was a special ceremony at the local church, where Nancy dedicated her life to God. Afterwards, a large party was held at the Orphanage with lots of food and fun.
Erika, Orphanage Assistant Director, shared about Nancy’s Quinceañera:
[Nancy] liked it very much, and it was beautiful. You should have seen her - she was gorgeous. She looked like a bride. I almost cried when I saw her in her gown. I took Marcelina, Sofia, Mayra and Nancy to a Beauty Salon to have their hair done and Nancy’s makeup. Everybody said that the party was beautiful, and I also think it was perfect. Betty made the invitations. My mom [Lilia] made the cake and Nancy, Sofia, Mayra, Keila, Karen and Ada’s dresses.
Roy also wrote about how he attended the party with friends from his church:
Bud and Patti Kennedy [from Placentia Presbyterian Church] have been sponsoring Nancy Martinez ever since she came to live at the Orphanage over five years ago. A special meal was prepared and served at the Orphanage in her honor. Nancy was beautiful in the dress that Lilia Espinoza had made for her. She was filled with joy and radiant throughout the day drenched in the love that was poured out on her. [We] were truly blessed to have been able to attend this special day in Nancy’s life.

What a beautiful women of God Nancy has become. We feel privileged to have met Nancy again this summer. What a wonderful celebration and great job everyone did. Lilia is a very talented lady and what a blessing for Nancy to have wonderful Godly examples for her life. CONGRATULATIONS!!
