Kaiizen is for the kids
This adorable photo of Sergio is on Kaiizen’s MySpace page.
While researching yesterday’s circus blog, I found a non-profit group, the Kaiizen Foundation, focused on making a difference. Their style intrigued me - friendly and funky. They start with an inviting letter on their home page:
Dear friend,
Kaiizen is for the kids, and your help is needed. If you feel so inspired, please join, donate, buy, participate, or do what you feel you can to make a difference.
Thanks,
Kaiizen
When I realized many of the photos on their website are from El Sauzal, I looked further. They have organized several trips to the Orphanage recently - last December, and February and April this year. Next week, they are visiting the Orphanage again.

Check out their mission statement:
Kaiizen exists to raise money for orphanages we sponsor all around the world. (they are all by killer surf spots) Our main goal is to get our generation involved in the many projects we have planned for these orphanages. We are a 501c(3) non-profit organization so we run a bit differently. We raise money through the sales of our apparel and through various benefit concerts, parties, and surf/skate competitions. Everything we do is something you could find any person our age doing on any day of the week but we have added a humanitarian dimension.
They raise money in unconventional ways. (I was so intrigued, I donated!) What do they do on their trips? They paint, clean, build and play with the kids. Click here see a cool documentary of one of their trips to El Sauzal.
How can you make a difference at the Orphanage? Take a suggestion from Kaiizen; just think aout something you do “on any day of the week” and then add “a humanitarian dimension”.
